Pearl came here at the end of every week. She spent hours standing in front of the obsidian wall talking about her week even though she knew no one could hear her.

She kept coming back, running her hand through obsidian again and again in the hopes she could feel something and maybe they were still connected. Her hand had started to scar from the sharp obsidian. But she kept hoping maybe by a miracle the rift would open up.

Sometimes she would sit with her back to the rift and go on rambling, sometimes she would ask for advice but would get none. Unbeknownst to pearl, on the other side sausage, did the same, visiting the rift every week and pouring his heart out.

The staff of sanctuary was strong but ever since the rift closed it couldn’t jump to the hermitcraft.

Both of them longed to be with the other. They finally remembered each other, but too late now they were stuck with no way for them to ever meet again, but what they didn't know was just for today the universe was on their sides .

Pearl was getting ready to leave just as the rift started making noises. She turned towards the rift and saw it had started to open, she rushed close to the rift as she put her hand through the rift.

She hand expect to find anything but to her surprise she touched with something a most likely a hand.

She heard a voice that without a doubt belonged to mystical sausage her friend, no her brother. “Is that you Pearl?” sausage said.

“Ye- yes it's me, I can’t believe it” pearl said her voice breaking slightly. Pearl and sausage could only talk for a few seconds before the rift started to close again.

But knowing that they were still connected and could talk about their day even though the other couldn’t hear, they knew the other was there. This brought the two a level of comfort.

After the rift closed pearl turned towards grumbot, he made his signature sound, as a paper popped out. Pearl picked up the paper and all it said was “your welcome” but pearl knew exactly what he meant and a small smile kept on her face as she muttered a thank you to the robot.
