Very grateful to Sigrid Jusélius Stiftelse for their continued funding of Human Brain Disease Modelling in #Parkinsons research at the University of Eastern Finland A.I. Virtanen Institute
UEF Neuroscience UEF Doctoral Programme in Molecular Medicine Kuopio Brain & Mind NeurocenterFI
Thank you for supporting Human Brain Disease Modelling researchers towards their #PhD . They both aim to uncover novel targets for #Parkinsons disease by applying cutting-edge #methods such as midbrain organoid slices or CRISPRi genetic screening
Our lab has had lots of great news to start 2024! Vili Hakosalo received a grant from Instrufoundation and Sara Kälvälä from Kulttuurirahasto 🥳🥂 thank you for funding our research on Parkinson’s disease!
Yesterday we also welcomed visiting PhD student Ayman Hawash from University of Oulu 😊 He is interested in understanding viral encephalitis. He'll be here for a couple of weeks learning some of our techniques in the stem cell lab 🧫 glad to have you and expand our research knowledge!
This morning we celebrated Sara Kälvälä getting the UEF Doctoral Programme in Molecular Medicine position! Well-deserved and we are so excited for you 🥳👏🥂 congrats to other applicants on all their hard work. Let's keep funding PhD students to work on their high quality science 💪 A.I. Attending Glia meeting in Berlin? Want to talk about microglia and alpha-synuclein? Come and see me at my poster today from 15 onwards, T16-088B or #619. #glia2023 #microglia #alphasynuclein #iPSC @Leht
Human Brain Disease Modelling welcomed data miners from Aalto University and Marko Lehtonen from LC-MS core UEF_Farmasia School of Pharmacy at A.I. Virtanen Institute University of Eastern Finland to foster collaboration between neurologists, chemists, and data analysts. Exciting workshop full of ideas!
This has been such an incredible week for Human Brain Disease Modelling who participated in #DPMMwinterschool2023 at UEF Doctoral Programme in Molecular Medicine @AIVI in Finland and #GRC PD in Switzerland Les Diablerets which was chaired this year by Dr. Malu Tansey.
We had a great day at #DPMMwinterschool2023 yesterday! Our lab had 4(!) posters. Thanks for all the interest in our #PD work and looking forward to share more soon 👋🏻 UEF Doctoral Programme in Molecular Medicine A.I. Virtanen Institute Here are Jonna Niskanen Valtteri Syvänen, Sanni Peltonen & Tuuli Sonninen presenting 🌟
Thank you to Kulttuurirahasto Pohjois-Savo for funding Tuuli Sonninen’s project about the blood-brain barrier in #Parkinsonsdisease
Thanks to the GRS Gordon Research Conferences for selecting my talk and all the great discussion we had after and at my poster! So many new ideas and stimulating discussion 💙
Superb to see all the PhDs & post doc researchers #Dancing4Parkinsons super #dopaminedanceparty at the Gordon Research Conferences #GCS today. Parkinson's Europe 🌷 Bas Bloem Barbara Salsberg Mathews Audrey Boyle Women’s Parkinson’s Project MyMovesMatter PD Avengers 🥰
Good morning from cloudy Les Diablerets 🗻 Today Katrina Räty (Albert) 🇺🇦 will give a talk to the GRS about her work with microglia and alpha-synuclein , very excited!
Hitting the ground running here at the GRS PD where Sara Kälvälä is presenting her poster! We (+ Katrina Räty (Albert) 🇺🇦 & Šárka Lehtonen ) are here in 🇨🇭til Friday for the GRC. Looking forward to presentations and great discussions!
Thank you to Emil Aaltosen Säätiö for supporting Katrina Räty (Albert) 🇺🇦 from Human Brain Disease Modelling to explore the role of #microglia in #parkinson pathology and Marja Koskuvi from Koistinaho Lab to continue her research in #Schizophrenia
We are delighted to welcome Veronika Pranclova from Czech Academy of Sciences to Human Brain Disease Modelling to learn about #BBB models that can be used to investigate pathogens like TBE and #COVID19 . We also congratulated Tuuli on getting a research funding to work with the BBB chip model.
