This weekend, we welcomed our The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award students back to Chester Zoo

They're producing digital projects 🎙️📷looking at snow leopards & the Himalayas🏔️

They focused on gathering media - taking photos, interviewing zoo rangers & gathering on-location research at our Himalayan habitat

Members of our Youth Board met this weekend Chester Zoo

They toured our conservation breeding management area & held a workshop to explore future priorities

They received updates from CEO Jamie Christon DL on the zoo's wider activity & looked at how they could best offer support

We’re running a 1 day course for educators involved in delivery of FE animal management courses

We’ll tour behind the scenes areas looking at best practice - & visit our snow leopard habitat & meet the project managers

Our The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award students were at Chester Zoo this weekend planning their digital projects

Their brief is to create a film, podcast or piece of photo journalism focusing on the Himalayas

They’ll be highlighting the threat climate change poses to vulnerable species like snow leopards

As we welcome new arrivals Nubra & Yashin to Chester Zoo, we thought you might want to learn a little more about this elusive species...including how snow leopards are adapted for their environment & the threats they face in the wild

During yesterday’s visit to the zoo, I spent time with a group involved with the Duke of Edinburgh who are creating content about the zoo’s snow leopards, Nubra & Yashin.
