Congratulations to former students Imogen and Heather, who achieved their The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Gold Award! Here they are celebrating their hard work at Buckingham Palace.

We would also like to give a big thank you to Mrs Williams and Mrs Shaw, our Duke of Edinburgh award leaders.

Thank you to Ash Robinson, who came in from Lancaster & Morecambe College (LMC) to talk to our Y10 students about T-Levels and local labour market information. Our students gained a greater understanding of what T-Levels are, and are now aware of the high number of local marketing career opportunities.

Our art department is hosting an exhibition of our amazingly talented GCSE and A-Level students' art! All are welcome to attend.

Last week saw Y12 students taking part in work experience for the first time. This week-long immersion into the professional world offered them invaluable insights and lessons that will undoubtedly shape their future career decisions.

Our geographers were back on Morecambe beach last week, but this time it was our Y10 students' turn! Our students were gathering data and practicing methodology for a future case study, measuring the distribution of sediment along the beach.

All students wishing to enter the school in September 2025 are required to sit our 11+ entrance test. This will take place on 28/09/2024.

Thank you to the wonderful Lauren Roberts for visiting us on Wednesday! Our Y9 students were able to ask lots of questions in an extended Q&A session, as well as hearing a talk all about her writing process and how the Powerless series came to be.

Our Y9 students have been making coral in their art lessons, first forming their shape out of clay before painting them in beautiful vibrant colours. Fantastic work, everyone!

What a perfect day for a geography trip! Last week, our Y12 Geographers undertook a field visit up to Easedale Tarn to explore glaciated landscapes out in the field. This allowed them to see the impressive U-Shaped Valleys, Drumlins and Roche Moutonnées along the way.

Well done to Kanmani, for all of the hard work she has put in to her Pupil Librarian Gold Award project! Celebrating Earth Day, Kanmani's booklet of puzzles has been available for students to take part in for two weeks.
