On this day in 1925, Saturday 4th April, our Riccarton 'The High Parks' Course was first opened for play following the move from our original Low Parks course, which was located near the now Hamilton Racecourse.

42 boys played today in fantastic weather Carnwath Golf Club. One of the few courses around with 18 holes open and all on big greens👏👏

16 holes were open on big greens today

There was no rain & a stiff breeze was present

With no overnight rain forecast it looks as if we will be good to go

If 17 & 18 are still closed, the comp. will be over 16 holes with preferred lies

The prestigious Berkhamstead Trophy was cut to 54
holes due to the awfull weather

Today in 40mph winds, Bothwell Castle Golf Club 17 yo boy international, Brodie Cunningham, closed with a very respectable 74 for a 221 (+8) total for T26

A very good performance Brodie in a top class field

Many congrats to Bothwell Castle Golf Club youngster Brodie Cunningham on making the 36 hole cut (T30) in dreadfull weather at the prestigious Berkhamstead Trophy in Hertfordshire

Brodie was 17 this week & we wish him well in the last round👍

Disappointing news coming through regarding further cancellations of big 72 hole tournaments.

The Craigmillar Park Open, which was scheduled for this weekend, was cancelled on Tuesday.

Now the Battle Trophy at Crail, scheduled for 20/4 & 21/4, has just been cancelled.

We have had several enquiries whether the boys event on Mon. Carnwath Golf Club will take place following the recent dreadfull spell of weather🌧️💦

We are in constant dialogue with the Carnwath officials & a decision will be made on Sun. by the head greenkeeper, who is hopefull👍
