We are continuing to build a cohort of teachers that are connecting together to collaborate on teaching the new AP African American Studies course. We had our 2nd site visit at New Trier- and the students shared how much they have grown by taking this course.

The Multilingual Transition Night celebrated our newest students and families and allowed for all to learn about all that LT has to offer.It was a joyful event full of dancing,food and fun! Looking forward to seeing these students at LT next year!

The Equity Ambassador Team hosted an Eid Celebration today that brought staff and their family members together to share and to fellowship. The focus was on amplifying our gratitude for our school community and each other. We are LT!

The Equity Ambassador team is excited to celebrate our latest Equity Amplifiers, English teacher, Nicole Lombardi & Guidance Counselor, Tammy Miller. Words that describe them are: inclusive, thoughtful, kind & present. Both work to amplify equity and belonging everyday! W are LT!

The Illinois Affinity Group Network had a successful 2nd year of supporting BIPOC educators across the state. We just learned that they have secured funding to keep the network going, and it was the best news we could receive at our closing session. Dr. Howard was our Keynote!

The Student Equity and Belonging Committee had their summer workshop to welcome new members and to begin planning for the fall. Many new friendships were created and everyone was excited about ways we can support our culture of belonging at LT.

This first week of summer has been a busy one with our Restorative Practices workshop. Members of our LT team came together for 2 days of learning in community as we center our work on cultivating a truly restorative culture that fosters belong for all. We are LT!

We ended the week learning in community with many of our Multilingual teaching teams. The first part of the day was focused on skills surrounding the WIDA standards. And then our teaching teams jumped into curriculum work after lunch. It has been an amazing 1st week of summer!

The Cultivating Curriculum Summer workshop came to a close after a week of reflection, connection and collaborative creation. The community of teachers used this time to reimagine curriculum and focused on amplifying intellect,identity,criticality, and joy!

The R.I.S.E. Academy is taking place this week at LT, bringing students together to build connections and a sense of belonging. Having this time to lead a session with some of the SEBC students was a joy! Our kids are doing so many positive things- WE Are LT!

The new year is getting started with our new teachers experiencing LT through the Induction & Mentoring program. The BEST Affinity Group hosted a panel discussion with some of our BIPOC staff sharing their insights & wisdom. My day ended at COD with BIG hugs from an LT Grad!

We are so excited to welcome the start of the school year, and a big part of it includes all of the new educators that are joining the LT Family! Thank you to the LaGrange Community for taking time to share with us on our annual community bus tour. WE Are LT!

The LT team spent the day preparing for the start of school, but also took time to connect at the annual BBQ! Fun was had by all as we created a collaborative art piece-continuing to build bonds to cultivate our LT community.

The rain showers did not stop all of the fun(that is still going on) at the Annual Reunion Picnic at the Eastside Community Center!

Another amazing day at LT, which started with our annual Sankofa Connection. Ran into Mrs. Lopez and her science class on their way in from collecting specimens. And the football team wants everyone to come out for the big game! We ARE LT!

LT hosted a convening with our 7 feeder districts, which provided space for sharing and collaboration. The focus for all was the power in relationships and the need for belonging. These beliefs were amplified in the opening message from ISBE Teacher of the Year, Dr. Mahmood!

It was an amazing Sunday in the community! The Embracing our Differences art show was on display at the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs & then the 33rd Race Unity Rally filled the Village Hall! Our students shared about the power in belonging. We Are LT!

SEBC spent time creating decorations for our Hispanic Heritage Month festivities & also put up a display for Deaf Awareness Month. And the end of the day had the Equity Ambassadors gathering and sharing with special guest Dr. Joy Ross! We Are LT!

The BEST Affinity Group gathered in community to check in and to hear a message from leadership coach, Dr. Joy Ross. One special highlight was the arrival of the alebrije that is on display for the Latine Heritage Month celebration! We Are LT!
