'Saint' joins Liverpool!
Ian St John signed for Liverpool FC on 2 May 1961, joining the Reds from his hometown club Motherwell. He was about to create a brilliant attacking force together with Sir Roger Hunt for the following 10 years!

Happy 43rd birthday Chris Kirkland!

It took Liverpool FC 120 minutes to beat Leeds United at Wembley on 1 May 1965, but at last they got their first FA Cup! Sir Roger Hunt and Ian St John scored for the Reds in the extra time and #LFC won 2-1.

The Kop's last stand was 30 years ago today!

Back to the field: on this day in 1989, Liverpool FC played their 1st game after the Hillsborough disaster. They went to Glasgow and beat Celtic 4-0, with Dalglish, Aldridge (2) and Rush on the scoresheet. The crowd sang YNWA altogether and there was no segregation in the stands.

Roger Hunt scored two, Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-1, the Reds clinched the title for the seventh time. What a beautiful day!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!
On this day in 1901, Liverpool FC won 1-0 with West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns in their final game of the season. Therefore they clinched their first League championship! A draw would be enough, but the Reds won thanks to a goal from Johnny Walker.

Luis Suarez scored a brilliant hat-trick in a 3-0 win at Carrow Road on this day in 2012. Norwich fans must have hated him more than any other striker!

Our best wishes to an ex Liverpool defender Dominic Matteo who turns 50 today!
Matteo was born in Dumfries in Scotland but he's a #LFC academy product. He made his professional debut in 1993 and made 155 appearances before moving to Leeds Utd in 2000.

Throwback to an amazing game on 28 April 1976, when Liverpool FC came with a brilliant comeback in the UEFA Cup final 1st leg. Club Brugge were 2-0 up after 15 minutes, but Ray Kennedy, Jimmy Case and Kevin Keegan made it 3-2 for Liverpool in the second half!

Ian Rush and John Barnes scored in a 2-1 win with QPR on 28 April 1990, clinching the 18th title for Liverpool! The visitors were 1-0 up after 14 minutes thanks to a Roy Wegerle's strike, but Rushie equalised shortly before the HT and Barnes found a winner in the 2nd half.

Ian Rush became a Liverpool FC player on this day in 1980.

Liverpool FC held Chelsea to a goalless draw in a Champions League semifinal 1st leg at Stamford Bridge. OK then, let's wait and see what happens in the return leg at Anfield...

On 27 April 1996, Ian Rush played his final game at Anfield as a Liverpool player. The Reds defeated Middlesbrough 1-0. It was an emotional day for the man who spent 15 years at #LFC and scored more goals for the club than anyone else.
I'd love to have him in the LFC side again!

On this day in 1965, 4 young players made their professional debut for Liverpool as Bill Shankly rested his main stars for the incoming FA Cup Final. That 'mixed' #LFC side still managed to beat Wolverhampton 3-1 at Anfield, wth debutant John Sealey grabbing one of the goals!
