Life is like a camera. Just focus on what's important & capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don't work out, just take another shot.

Then & Now: Green Lanes, Harringay late 1950s.
The trolley bus route 641, which ended service November 1961, making its way towards Manor House. You can just see part of a sign for the Harringay Stadium, the old dog track, now part of the Arena shopping park.

In those distant days when thrupence could get you a couple of ounces of pear drops at the sweet shop, with those great big jars of sweets just waiting on the counter for you to buy.

Leigh-on-Sea, by the Estuary where the river Thames meets the sea. Nice sandy beaches and less than an hour from the City of London. I'm lucky living a short walk from this lovely place.

Cannon Wharf, circa 1856. This was a coal wharf off Cannon Row, near Westminster Bridge. The whole area was swept away during the construction of the Victoria Embankment. The type of coal trolley or waggon seen here first appeared in the late 18th century.
