Almost 5 months ago, a Commission into abuse in sport was announced.

Abuse cases continue to mount, and still, there is no mandate, details and a start date.

We are at a reckoning point. Will the Commission just be more listening or will it have the power to compel evidence?

Plastics know no borders.

They hurt our Humber River, Lake Ontario and creatures that make their home here.

Every part of the planet and living beings are harmed by plastics.

Critical negotiations on plastic pollution begin this week in Ottawa for a better future.

A Commission into abuse in sport was announced 4 months ago.

Abuse cases continue to be exposed in the media, and still, there is no mandate, details and a start date.

Will the Commission have the necessary teeth to compel those who were in charge to testify?

A shout-out to the research community who came together and worked hard to build the case for investment in the people who make lifesaving, life changing and future building discoveries.

Thank you to the government for listening.

Spectacular!
In Etobicoke at Colonel Samuel Smith Park. The sky became so dark that the night lights in the parking lot Humber College came on, and when the skies brightened, the birds began to sing!

While a cancer diagnosis is overwhelming, and the challenges can be daily — and sometimes hourly —, my focus remains serving the Etobicoke community where I was born and raised.
Our families matter.

I asked the government if Canadian athletes carded under the Athlete Assistance Program were considered protected under federal jurisdiction.

Answer: Sport Canada does not refer to them as being under “federal jurisdiction”.

Still, athletes wait for a Commission into abuse.

A century ago, sprinting legend Eric Liddell switched to the 400 metres at the Paris Olympics because of his beliefs.

Ethics in sport is not only about doping.

In this Olympic and Paralympic year, will IPUparliament prioritize ethics in sport and act on ? UNESCO 🏛️ #Education #Sciences #Culture 🇺🇳

Grad students and postdocs need our support.

I know the challenges they face firsthand. When I was at the university, I helped them secure funding, food, housing and heating.

They have the ideas, do research now, and are also the future of research.

Kim Rudd loved her family, friends, community, service, and she loved to laugh. I am heartbroken, I have lost a dear friend, and Canada has lost a dedicated and spirited public servant. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

Happy International Women’s Day!

Here’s to generations of women who came before us, and women and girls who continue to champion justice, strive for equality, their rightful place, and a better world.

The fight is not done.

Time to finish it and make everyone’s dreams reality.

Athletes have called for a national public inquiry into sport for 2 years.

A commission was announced 3 months ago.

Will it be appointed under the Inquiries Act? What is the mandate, where are the details, and will it have the necessary teeth?

When will it start?
