Worst part of psychedelic trials is saying no to potential participants. We receive 100s of calls from ineligible folks who feel they have no options. When I discuss TMS, ECT, ketamine, MAOIs, trauma therapy, etc many are totally surprised. Makes me sad for them and psychiatry.

Having testified, again, in Vermont House Human Services Committee today, on S114 that was once a psilocybin decrim bill and is now exclusively a “psychedelic therapy advisory group bill”, it still shocking to see some legislators so skeptical. Stigma is real. Hyping harms hurts.

Shout out to theAngrymoms.com, an important advocacy group focused on ending the travesty that is the clozapine REMS. Clozapine REMS requirements are crazy, especially since many other meds cause agranulocytosis/neutropenia at a similar rate as clozapine but have no REMS.

DEA continues to promote their work “reducing supply” against the backdrop of worsening deaths and are just totally free from scrutiny. More funding, more seizures, more deaths. It’s nonsensical. Why are they exempt from any requirement of evidence that it works or helps?

I didn’t write this. Surprisingly some of our senators did. The whole letter is worth reading. Linked here: warren.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/… /fin

“Furthermore, rescheduling marijuana would not restore access to public housing or nutrition assistance for individuals who use marijuana recreationally or engage in other marijuana activity against federal law.” 5/
