Q: There is need for sensitization on AJS what is the game plan of the National Steering Committee on Implementation on AJS(NASCI-AJS)?
A: To reach every Kenyan within 5 years, in 3 years reach out to other Justice Stakeholders, and all judges and Magistrates in 2 years.

Q: Are AJS elders paid to decide cases under AJS?
A: No, there is no payment unless there is available appreciation.

Q: Can defilement case be heard under AJS?
A: No, Defilement issues fail the Agency theory tests. The minor has no capacity to consent to AJS and the Sexual Offences Act ousts AJS.

Q: What is the role of DPP where parties have consented to refer a criminal case to AJS?
A: AJS mechanisms don't have criminal & civil distinctions as envisaged in the formal justice sector. Dispute resolution is btwn disputing & aggrieved parties. DPP may play an advisory role.
