CS Davis Chirchir, EGH opened the 9th Annual International Energy Agency Global Conference on #EnergyEfficiency , bringing together Global leaders to collaborate and support the shared objective of doubling efficiency progress by 2030, as adopted at COP28.

Today’s deliberations have highlighted the role of #energyefficiency in improving the quality of life, comfort, and mobility, as well as the need to deliver affordable and clean cooking solutions for all. Over 600 delegates from over 50 countries are attending the conference.

On the 2nd day of the International Energy Agency 9th Annual Global Conference on #EnergyEfficiency in Nairobi, there was a high-level opening ceremony by H.E Deputy President
H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH and a high-level Ministerial round table.

Kenya Power [The Kenya Power & Lighting Company Plc.] has called for total ban on waste copper Exports and stringent action against rogue scrap metal traders in the fight against vandalism.

According to the utility, between 2022-2024, 519 transformers worth KES 474M have been vandalised for scrap metal.

In the 2019-2020 financial year, 127 transformer vandalism incidents valued at Ksh 40,546,516.88 were recorded, with Nairobi, North Rift, Mt. Kenya, and Central Rift being the most affected regions.

However, incidents have decreased due to rigorous anti-vandalism operations;
