Kitimat now has 44 new homes for women and children leaving violence. The building also has a new 24-hour child care centre with 60 spaces.

We are building more housing across BC, including more spaces for women and children in vulnerable situations.

I completely agree with @katrinacBurnaby that it's time to move #cdnchildcare away from the market. We in the childcare movement have been urging this for years but moving it to a public system needs to be done through public policy.

BC started the #ChildCareBC plan in 2018, and rolled out 50% fee reduction in 2022. Child care is a right. We need to keep building on this new $10aDay Child Care social program! ☀️
