Chancellor Gene Block released a statement today that said the university attempted to uplift student voices through the encampment, but it ultimately had to be removed because of disruptions to campus operations and the violence that counter-protesters inflicted upon it.

So now the NYPD is threatening student journalists and the Dean of Columbia Journalism school?! In case there is any confusion, student journalists have the same protections under the First Amendment as professional journalists. This is completely unacceptable! #JournalismIsNotACrime

As all eyes are on the massive NYPD crackdown at Columbia tonight, the situation at UCLA is escalating. Protestors say they will not leave despite the administration’s demands and threats.
