I’m literally doing this.

I’m running a marathon next week and I just had one of the worst 10 mile (16.2km) runs of my life. It’s the sudden heat - I’m just not built for it. If it’s like this next week, I’m not sure I’ll finish 😬. It’ll be okay, right?

We were asked to do this preemptively in the (bulk) email that sacked us too. This is a job that only those of us that have already taught will be eligible to apply for in the future too (awful contract aside). They’re making their own PhD grads ineligible for jobs at the uni.
