Got home from a long day of travel & sat with Daniel Gornall at the dinner table, suddenly realised the 'kids' (Starling chicks in the roof) were quiet.... rushed to open the the boiler room door.... sweet little mutterings going on up there. They're having an early night😆

Back from wintering in Germany (via Cley, Norfolk) and sat on her nest at Scorton in North Yorkshire today!

Basically, a Curlew footpath! 👣

Locating Lapwing nests this evening with the team ahead of the farmer drilling tomorrow. Brings back great & fond memories of doing the same with my Grandad back when I was a lad.

Thankfully the #water is receeding & we're hopeful these amazing birds will be able to nest very soon 🤞
