Despite HMRC allowing up to 20p to be reimbursed, I was literally told that 'unlike operating a car' it cost nothing to travel by bicycle and the expenses weren't there to profit from but recoup maintenance costs

Robert W Macc Active Traveller Bloor (Mastodon: @[email protected]) If your employer does this, it's possible to claim the mileage through your tax return up to the HMRC rate. You'll get the reimbursement through your tax code.
