The debate surrounding the PA role is simply too important. We’re discussing issues that directly affect patients’ lives & jeopardises their safety

Why don’t we use:

- be honest
- be transparent
- be civil
- be professional
- be principled

Answer is: we like to control women and how they look. Because we don't police beards.

That a senior nurse could burst into a private room, knowing the conversation was about a new terminal cancer diagnosis, just to shout at a junior doctor for not having her hair tied back in a ponytail. And argue that it was justified because... 'Policy'

The govt dismisses patient safety concerns re: physician associates by stressing they've studied a bio-science degree prior to their 2-yr PA course.

Now it turns out those first degrees include English lit, history, nutrition, anthropology & ... homoeopathy.

Oh for the confidence of mediocre white men...

Every female physician felt this in her core.

I think it's great that women are allowed to vote.
I think it's even greater that women are allowed to be politicians.
I hope to live in a time whereby female politicians will be allowed to speak, too.

Just dialled in to the Royal College of Physicians EGM broadcast and there's no captions... and no facility to even switch them on. 🤷‍♀️

I've raised accessibility Royal College of Physicians before and am deeply disappointed that yet again, I'm excluded.

Ultimately, as leaders of our profession and medicolegally leaders of our patients' care, we have to make difficult decisions. We have to stop seeing the nice person in a role, and consider the systemic problems with the role and how it fits within the system.
