Getting ready for my 'snow hydrology' field school but this year it could be more like 'early spring wildfires' field school.

Given the snow drought this year there is an unsurprising (and upsetting) amount of fire activity.

Very low water, windy (due to a chinook), and dry today with massive amounts of soil erosion at the Crowsnest River input into the Oldman Reservoir, Alberta. The high and typical water marks show how abnormally dry it is this spring.
