VR is in a precious moment because there are very few interactions with AI. VR is a genuine interaction layer right now. Social VR experiences feel alive because we know they’re filled with other people.

Being in VR or using a headset does not guarantee immersion. Creating meaning, a sense of place and a dynamic emotional experience matter so much for immersion. Putting the headset on and opening your app doesn’t mean you’ve suspended their disbelief.

I think the VR industry uses a lot of the wrong language. VR, metaverse, spatial, worlds… The language implies a scale and importance that immediately makes the audience skeptical. We need new and lighter language for the space.

1 of 10! Posted and re-edited this to start with the killer hook of a player screaming, “You guys wanna hear my credit card number?”

The most important VR headset is the one that everyone has. That’s why Quest 2 is still peak. Assume no headset is coming to save us.

For all my talk about robots etc on here, I'm pretty confident that if Earthling VC Fund I becomes an all-time great fund it will be because of the unpopular (to VCs) positions the fund has taken in VR (would talk more about it, but no one here cares :( )

My grandfather has been a furniture designer for ~70 years. “When you tell people you’re a furniture designer, they all have the same suggestion… a folding rocking chair. I got so annoyed that I designed and patented it. Now I have a funny anecdote at dinner parties.” Shoutout

We hired a cracked video editor and he’s hit three 1 of 10s since he started two weeks ago. LFG!! (you think you’re getting the hang of video editing until you meet a pro video editor)

when vr players meet people from our team in our game, they will only refer to them as “owner,” “admin,” “dev,” or “mod.” but they will also ask for “admin,” “mod” or “dev” privileges. the players really want to be able to say they are helping on the game and have a role. idk

Super niche but I found the most comfortable hat I’ve ever worn in Geneva. The New Era Cap 9Forty Stretch-Snap. When I love something, I need multiples. I found the blue one in Canada and the black one in Japan. Fun to find the whole set. If you find this hat model, buy it.
