The single most powerful aid in transforming your tongue is interestingly, hearing the Word of Christ.

All other efforts to train and tame the tongue are vain if they do not begin with a heart that hears God’s Word and feeds upon His truthfulness, grace, love, and kindness.

No, Paul saying 'rubbish' (σκύβαλα) is not validation that the christian should cuss.

The same word is used was used in dignified scholarly works by doctors, sages, philosophers, & geographers. This is not Paul dropping the 's' word.
It simply means worthless waste/trash/dung.

'In Him' we move, breathe & have our being (Acts 17:28).
'In Him' we have hope (1 Jn 3:3)
'In Him' we have our inheritance (Eph. 1:11)
'In him' we have redemption (Eph. 1:7)
'In Him' we are established in faith (Col. 2:7)
'In Him' we abide & produce fruit.

Our faith is 'In Him.'

Why did Jesus have to die?

1. To fulfill Old Testament prophecy
2. To absorb the wrath of God
3. To bear our shame
4. To demonstrate God's love
5. To break the curse of sin & death
6. To reveal the sovereignty of God
7. So that He might rise from the grave!

New Dial In episode with Joel Beeke in which Dr. Beeke covers the principles of a godly work ethic. In a culture that has suppressed the value and institution of labor, the Bible details that work is a pre-fall construct that brings God glory.

God does not need dirt to plant trees,
nor rain to nourish them,
nor the sun to help them grow,
but He ordains the means, as well as the end, in accomplishing His purpose.

Similarly, our Father uses His children's prayer as a means of accomplishing His perfect will.

The term 'Christian' is used 3x in the NT & each time it is used as a slur towards those who follow Jesus.

The word 'disciple,' however, appears 268x in the NT b/c it was commonly understood:

A follower of Jesus isn't just a 'convert,' but a life-long servant of The Master.

The greatest reward of prayer is not the answers, but the relationship that is forged with our Father when we seek Him there.
