Important update from the trial to test out the government’s SEND reforms

Perhaps the bumps are to be expected (and the point of trialling the changes first), but another delay will be frustrating to the sector

The exams regulator has it says on the ABS plans

Good point on just ditching trusted qualifications (as opposed to reforming them)

Well this is a much wider scope than what’s been trailed - *existing* faith free schools can apply to have the 50% cap lifted

Faith special schools is an interesting one - hadn’t really ever noticed they weren’t allowed

What do people think about them? Keen to hear of any potential positives/negatives

Another casualty in the DfE’s big budget blackhole

That now makes: Now Teach, NPQs, teacher top-up courses, governor recruitment, teaching hub council, international recruitment premium cut

What next?

Ignore the Tesla factor for a moment.

It’s possible to justify on VFM grounds providing a car. Using own car would attract a rate of 45p per mile for first 10,000 miles and 25p per mile there after. So providing an EV may be cheaper.

But a Tesla? Well, given current market…

Lots of debate on this article about whether trusts should embrace the employment benefits traditionally more associated with the private sector now many are the same size

Many central staff travel the country, the few trusts using company cars say they are value for money
