The House of Commons Privileges Committee produced an excellent report dealing with recalcitrant refusenik witnesses which the UK government has refused to implement. It would have led to similar action against those who refused to attend without good cause.

Just your occasional reminder that the collective punishment of a civilian population is against international law - even if you have legitimate concerns about military, militia or terrorist activity by combatants (i.e. non-civilans). The targeting of children is always a crime.

Heard yesterday of someone, settled in Cardiff, who’s just been refused asylum. Had gone to Ukraine as a safe country, was working there, but came to the UK following the Russian invasion. Now has nowhere to go. People’s lives can be much more layered than is often portrayed.
