Thanks to those that came along last week to the Roca Gallery! Was great to meet and talk to so many interested and interesting people afterwards!

Anyone else just getting a lot of bot activity on here now? Given this, combined with the increasingly toxic environment here, and the fact that more and more people are migrating - I'll only be posting on that other, clearer, bluer platform from now on! See you there!

The Government's recent rowback on energy efficiency standards for rented housing was terrible for renters and terrible for the climate. As such it was the least popular of the policies (YouGov poll - 60% opposed). Excellent to hear Matthew Pennycook MP will reinstate the new standards

Today I can share I'm challenging the PM on the legality of abandoning key Net Zero commitments

I believe the timeline for the UK to meet Net Zero cannot be changed at will by the PM – I contend that he does not have the legal right

The ball is in your court , Prime Minister

Greenwich housing demolition ordered just one year after completion // Sunak U-turns on carbon policies // Deforestation and the Sycamore Gap tree felling // And is Britain really a β€˜nation of drivers’?

I hosted The Brief this week with Joe Giddings

Look how dependent on cars and vans we are in the UK.

Without a high speed rail network this will never change:

Today the government has diverted lots of money away from rail infrastructure towards expanding our road network

Presumably there will be a lot of environmental folk on here that are happy with Sunak's announcement to scrap HS2 line to Manchester. If that's you, why? A genuine question which I'm interested to hear responses to!

Whoops. FT says collapsing UK carbon price after Sunak Net Zero changes mean:

- Billions that would have been raised from big polluters to fund NHS + other public services will now be sent to the EU instead.

- πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ clean energy jobs will be a casualty.
