It's only Tuesday and already a MASSIVE week for .
My latest for Bible of Boxing on Anthony Cacace-Eduardo Núnez IBF mandatory title fight headed to June 11 purse bid hearing. (@DanRafael1 first to report).

My latest for Bible of Boxing, as IBF schedules June 6 purse bid hearing for Canelo Alvarez-William Scull mandatory. Scull's team called for hearing nine days into (non-)talks.
IBF/WBA still have to sort out who is next in rotation, as mentioned in story:

According to IBF letter (a copy of which was obtained by Bible of Boxing), negotiation period lasted just nine days. Zero progress prompted Scull's team to expedite matter and send to purse bid.

Five years to 'cross the street' and fully unify the division. Now will likely lose all four titles outside the ring.

For those keeping score at home (and it's probably just Tokkerū, Jamie Bourne and myself), this now the fifth delayed/postponed/canceled mandatory for Niyomtrong and zero fights to show for it in past 22 months.

Left hook to the body, Mark Heffron down and out barely 40 seconds into the opening round.
Onto Sergiy Derevyanchenko... who should at least show some resistance.

Here we go...

Jack Catterall UD12 Josh Taylor
Gains revenge 27 months after he was denied the undisputed 140-pound championship.

Crowd rightly boos Bob Arum after his ridiculous in-ring rant, claiming Josh Taylor was robbed and that the scores were 'a disgrace.'
At best, you can argue that 117-111 was too wide. The right guy won this time.

Twelve rounds done. Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall both raise their arms in victory. Briefly stare at each other... no embrace, no glove tap as they head to their respective corners. We await the scorecards.

Catterall hurts Taylor with a straight left midway through rd 11 after the fight threatened to slip away. Both fighters tumble to the canvas during a clinch. Catterall back on the attack in a much-needed 11th round. Terrific fight, so much better than the first.

Jack Catterall's undoing in the first fight (even though he deserved the decision) was that he faded in the final four rounds. Seemed like he was fading in the 7th and 8th here but has come out strong to start the 9th.

Big bounce back round for Josh Taylor in the 7th. Fight was threatening to get away from him but he responded with his best round of the fight to this point.

As I post this, Jack Catterall takes complete control in rounds four and five. Seemingly enjoying a commanding lead through five—though of course we said the same thing 27 months ago.

Tense fight through three rounds. Josh Taylor off to a better start than was the case in their first fight though still has his hands full. Already two visible head clashes but also plenty of action.
