Every year I have a festive extension for my early finishers: create a TX themed ornament for my classroom tree. Here are some of my favorites so far!

Honors TX History students are taking ownership of their learning and it was so exciting to hear the conversations they had today! We introduced events and characters of the Republic through timeline with attitude and body biographies 😎

An incredible group of kids being led by a teacher who has such a big heart for the program- they all deserve this so much!

My favorite time of year at Hays 🏐

I share this beautiful face every year with the same message: Please do not drink and drive. I’ve had to share this 8 times now. On December 5th, 2016 we lost Brittany. She lived life so fully. Call an uber, call a tow truck, but please do not drink and drive.

Such an awesome choice for the community! She has been such a light for our family and has served Odell so thoughtfully. 🧡

DIY flooring renovations, half-marathon training, dentist appts, a 10 year wedding anniversary, and so much more. Our Winter Break hasn’t been “relaxing” but my cup sure is full ❤️

We hosted the UIL invitations at Hays Middle School this weekend, and Jessica McDowell got to host an event in my room. Sweet notes on a Monday morning really set the tone for the week. 💙

Middle School District UIL Meet 2024-2025 My Informative and Persuasive Speaking students crushed it today! They showed immense growth since our invitational meet and brought home 2 4th places, a 2nd, and a 1st place! 🎉

Students used scribble notes to analyze documents and determine whether or not WW2 was a watershed event for Texas 📝

We extended the learning on our document analysis. After determining that WW2 was a a watershed for Texas, they used the same documents to determine if WW2 had a bigger impact politically, economically, or socially (Big Paper Silent Debate Style) ✍🏻
