“The most subversive thing we can do is read”

Brilliant evening with the ‘pathologically ironic’ Percival Everett at Central Library: language as safety, the disarming power of humour and race as the defining theme of the American experience.

Thank you Manchester Literature Festival

We are appalled that the Government is once again singling out arts & creative subjects for funding cuts in Higher Education.

Many courses have already closed and a growing number are at risk.

This attack on the arts must stop now.

The arts and creative industries are an economic powerhouse for the UK. Continuing to undermine cultural education and weakening the talent pipeline with cuts in arts education is a wrong headed and short-sighted decision. theguardian.com/education/2024…
