Irish Vets served alongside him/under him over the years, he was a man who strove to work across the aisle, in a time before divisive bitterness became so entrenched in the political landscape. Parkinsons & Covid eventually took him out. Rest in Peace, Colin Powell

Everyone has to go sometime, but the loss of Paddy Moloney is huge. I recall getting into Rock n Blues in early '60s when, in '64, The Chieftans LP emerged on Claddagh - mind-changing and hauntingly beautiful. Thank you Paddy, fellow Northsider & international Irishman! RIP.

Allied military service was, in the main, conducted honourably and courageously, with the evolving mission’s focus being on the needs of the people. It will be the decisions of politicians that will help make ordinary life in the country, better or worse.

Charlie Watts @ 80 passes over to join that legendary band-in-the-sky. Always believed the Stones would exist long after The Beatles, and they didn't disappoint. And Charlie was also a great jazz percussionist. Thanks so much for the last 58 years!

This may not be how we imagined commemorating the 20th anniversary of 9/11, but as many a wise Veteran has often said: “It is what it is'. But each piece of work we do for those who need help – now and into the future – is an individual commemoration in itself.

With such a name, who can blame us for claiming him! Major General Michael Collins, Apollo 11 astronaut, and so much more. Another member of the modern-day Elite Few - who paved the way for fully-fledged space exploration – taken beyond the stars at 90.
