Casal Rotondo is my perfect residence - a farmhouse sitting in an orchard on top of the largest mausoleum on the ancient Appian Way, it’s historic, secluded, a little creepy but most importantly secure in event of a zombie-apocalypse 😆

The wonderful vaulted cloisters at Lacock Abbey

We have a couple of days in Lincoln soon, driving the route via Oxford, Northampton & Leicester

Obviously we’re going to the cathedral, allegedly the connoisseur’s choice for the best in the country, but what else do we put on our “must visit” list either in Lincoln or en route?

As someone who spends a lot of time taking photos of windows I was delighted to be able to visit Lacock Abbey, and pay homage to the original #TraceryTuesday 🤓

A splendid day for exploration yesterday, we got to a few excellent places in deep Wiltshire including a diversion to Holy Cross, Seend, which we spotted perched loftily atop a hill nestled between some impressive country houses - it didn’t disappoint
