Last year, the National Abortion Hotline provided financial assistance to more patients in Florida than any other state. Florida's upcoming six-week ban will force patients throughout the region to travel greater distances in order to obtain an abortion. 1-800-772-9100.

When a federal law conflicts with a state law, the federal law trumps the state law.

Since EMTALA is a federal law, hospitals are required to provide life-saving abortion care, even in states with abortion bans.
