Post the inauguration of centre, Governing Council of DIA-CoE IIT Kanpur was held on 27th May’2024, Secretary DDR&D and Director IIT Kanpur reviewed and cleared 6 projects for approval. GC was attended by officials from DRDO and academicians from the institute.

To pursue projects in critical & futuristic technologies, DRDO Industry Academia Centre of Excellence IIT Kanpur was inaugurated by Dr SV Kamat, Secretary DDR&D & Chairman DRDO and Prof Manindra Agarwal, Director IIT Kanpur on 27 May 2024. DRDO

The centre will initially focus on directed research in following Research Verticals:
1. Printing on Flexible Substrates
2. Advanced Nanomaterials
3. Accelerated Materials Design and Development
4. High Energy Materials
5. Bio-Engineering
