Happy Birthday, Andrea Bocelli! Born on this day in 1958, he is an is an Italian tenor, songwriter, and record producer. From a young age, Bocelli was afflicted with congenital glaucoma and lost his vision. Since 1982, Bocelli has sold over 90 million records worldwide.

Today we celebrate the life of Italian American folk and rock singer-songwriter James Joseph Croce. Born in Philadelphia to Italian American parents, Croce sold over 45 million records and is remembered for songs including “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown” and “Time in a Bottle.'

Happy Birthday Mark di Suvero! Mark di Suvero was born to Italian parents in Shanghai, China on September 18, 1933, and moved to San Francisco, California at the brink of World War II. Suvero started his art career in New York City.

On this day Italian-American poet Paul Vangelisti was born. Vangelisti is well known for his poems as well as his translation work. He’s anthologized poetry in English, Italian, and Polish and was awarded a Creative Writing Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Giornata wines started as a dream to create wines from Italian grapes in California. After traveling and studying Italian winemaking processes, they have been able to master the process of creating delicious wines. We can’t wait to have them pour at Taste of Italy this year!
