We were delighted to receive funding from the Friends of the National Libraries to purchase this court book, for the manor of Ventongimps in Perranzabuloe parish, and to secure its long-term preservation and availability.

I do hope you don't mind me sharing this here but I know a lot of naval families settled in and around Gosport.
A vital piece of Wrens history has gone missing, now presumed destroyed, so we are trying to recreate it digitally by using the photos and memories of past Wrens.

On this day in 1859, the Royal Albert Bridge, a railway bridge spanning the Tamar River at Saltash, was officially opened by Prince Albert. 🌉

At 667 metres long, it was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
