HiPOD: Textures of Amazonis

This observation was requested to look at some unusual surface textures in Amazonis Planitia. Some of the terrain grades into ridges that could possibly be invasive dikes or lava intruding into overlying ash.

HiPOD: A Diverse Layered Section of Nirgal Vallis

Based on data from the CaSSIS instrument, this target was requested in order to provide some additional color coverage and to center on a discrete reddish layer in the exposed section of this terrain.

HiPOD: Defrosting Dunes

This image shows a field a sand dunes while seasonal carbon dioxide frost is sublimating. This process is not at all uniform, creating a pattern of dark spots with bright frost in the troughts of polygons.
