It’s an immensely hard thing to let a child develop differently than you, even when it shares DNA. My aparents are *good* people but they expected a blank slate like many aparents.

You solve your trauma. Ours lasts a lifetime.

@HedyBr0wn @ElleninEdmonton @mindymon Matt Oswalt My adoptions fell through and went through five years of fertility treatments, so my trauma lasts a lifetime, too. Out of the 15 kids I know who are adopted (and in their teens, 20s, 30s), I only see well-adjusted kids. I hope you find peace. Because you sound like you need it.

Adoption did not wreck my life. It did wreck my birth mother’s and my younger brother’s life.

I can criticize a system without being embittered myself. I hate adoption for what it did to my loved ones.
