Join Oein DeBhairduin ✨, National Museum of Ireland Curator for Traveller #Mincéirí Culture on #IrelandsHiddenTreasures on RTÉ One this Sunday 5th May at 6.30pm and learn about the importance of representation & inclusion of Traveller culture in the National Collections.
This is a landmark study of Traveller experiences in education, difficult reading, but with clear recommendations for addressing inequities in educational provision at all levels. Congratulations Hannagh Mc Ginley and all involved in supporting the project.
In 2020,my granny died before I got to record her stories and life.That year,I came up with the idea of a Traveller oral history archive project. In 2021,with guidance from Rosa Meehan and supports from National Museum of Ireland ,the project became what it is today.
