The Rijksmuseum has purchased these salt cellars, made by Johannes Lutma. Two of them were previously displayed in the Rijksmuseum from the 1960s onwards; the other pair was held in the Amsterdam Museum. Prior to WOII they were property of the Jewish Hamburg resident Emma Budge.

Breda, 28 augustus 1544. De begrafenis van de kinderloze René van Chalon vond plaats in de Grote Kerk, maar in Bar-le-Duc is Renés macabere grafmonument te zien. Deze Prins van Oranje liet zijn bezittingen na aan zijn neef Willem van Nassau, die wij kennen als Willem van Oranje.

Results of our Experimentball (geddit?) Archaeology so far:

- Rounder, deeper furrowed, ones work well in sand.
- Less finely decorated nobbled ones work OK in sand too.
- Finely decorated ones work OK in clay, but seem much better for making pigment prints.
