I can report that Park Burn nr Ovingham leading into the Tyne is well stocked again with trout, some individuals easily a foot long. A few weeks ago this was a horribly polluted scene of with dozens of fish dead. Is there any update re investigation? Northumbrian Water Environment Agency - Yorkshire & North East

On another matter, I see that another bunch of cretins tried to play Canute on the Isle today. That’s 3 in 4 days. All known records are going to be broken by the end of the ‘24 season ! Betcha it would stop overnight if only Seahouses Lifeboat started to change for their services :)

Quick Q. Has anyone seen any auroral shades tonight yet? I’ve enjoyed 5 hours sleep in 48 & am about to collapse but if I give in then I know then we’re guaranteed of a re-run of last night. But online NE reports are suspiciously conspicuous by their absence right now….

Well last night made my life just a little bit harder. The plan was to use 1 or 2 in my 2025 calendar. And then 3 & 4 come along to seriously mess with my brain….(:

My first instinctive reaction to approaching aurorae is to check upon wind (the non-solar variant) speeds as I do love reflections & symmetry :)

A very important all day commission today with a 4am start & ending at 7pm meant that my window for chasing auroral shades last night was limited. I did manage a couple of Tyne Valley offerings though before curfew. Next time I’ll do better :)

Another 4am start today after concluding my auroral downloading 2 hrs earlier & I’ve been working flat out & on my feet since 7am at this award-winning Northumberland holiday accommodation locale. If anyone gets the what & where from this then I’ll most probably cry….

Well it took me 3 hours of hard toddling this morning but I’ve managed to shut the delinquents up at last. They’ll be up again in less than an hour…..(:
