Good thread here.
Jeremy Farrar - there may be at least one temporary gap in the document that no one has mentioned?

The concern about #H5N1 reflects the interplay betwn birds, mammals and humans, the mutable nature of influenza viruses, and highly pathogenic clade 2.3.4.4b. The statistical probability of H5N1 adapting to humans is higher than at any time in the past. theconversation.com/a-person-in-te…
Does anyone in the media question why me and Trisha Greenhalgh both stepped away from World Health Organization (WHO) and their new messaging of #COVIDIsAirborne ?
World Health Organization (WHO) How much did this whole process cost? How many respirators could WHO have purchased if it had just had the humility to apologize for being wrong, instead of letting insiders use WHO slush funds to play word games?
Malgorzata (Gosia) Gasperowicz World Health Organization (WHO) should be leading, not running opinion surveys.
The ‘precautionary principle’ is a fundamental tenet of healthcare designed to save lives.
WHO should be protecting it, NOT actively participating in its demise simply because some people might think ‘lives aren’t worth it’
2/ The report was likely the result of intense pressure on World Health Organization (WHO) during the pandemic:
- They denied that #COVIDIsAirborne on March 2020
- They finally accepted it 2 years later

1/ World Health Organization (WHO) has published a report on updated terminology for disease transmission
I've seen some debate about it. My take:
- Terminology itself is ok. Big progress
- But no recommendations of how to protect!

POPNB will be at CPHA next week! Yes, we will be using multiple layers of infection prevention - masks, nose sprays, eating outdoors. We are part of a contributed session and look forward to meeting with allies. 💕 We’ll have cool Canada Strong Masks and CanadamasQ masks to give out!
