The truly fascistic part of this whole debacle is this:

Abbott and Republicans spent two sessions passing laws to protect people who spew hate online or on college campuses.

They knew this was a peaceful protest. They sent in riot police because they didn't like the message.

Just a reminder that these counter-protestors show up to every protest waving or draped in Israeli flags and nothing happens to them because the anti-genocide protesters are exceedingly non-violent and everything slanderous thing said about the protests is completely false
