Opening this is both skin-tingling and a tad scary. It’s a bit like cracking open the cover of your own freshly published book, except that, here, you’re introducing readers to the words of someone else. Aimé Césaire, as if so happens.
Thanks to my loving spirits, & to Penguin.

A pleasure to sonically pop in to the BBC Free Thinking BBC Radio 4 studio tonight to chat to Matthew Sweet about non competitive 17thC French conversation games vs ScrabbleTogether. And interesting to hear proof in the studio that games can help bridge divisions! Thanks all!

Massive! 👏🏿👏🏿

Congrats to Visai Games for the gong and for creating such a fantastic and moving game amongst a very worthy pool of nominees. It was such a privilege to be part of the juror panel for this category.

Now, everyone - you've no excuses. Go and play Venba! 👇🏿

I wrote a piece for the The Guardian about the new cooperative edition of Scrabble, which, predictably, has riled up certain people who fear Scrabble has 'gone woke' & the next generation is doomed.

I often tweet a picture of the Novo Cemetery (on Queen Mary University of London’s Mile End campus) when in bloom. Not quite at peak yet but will be over the next week or two, if you want to visit catch one of east London’s most stunning floral displays. Easy to walk on to campus to see this!
