The utter arrogance of this. White men taking it upon themselves to ‘defend’ groups of society that they don’t belong to. Hmm, where have we heard that before? GCs do not represent women, LGB people or children and defend only themselves.

Some myth busting on the Hate Crimes (Scotland) Act:

1. Misgendering isn't a criminal offence (save for extreme circumstances).

2. The Act aims to stop people using a legitimate belief as an excuse to abuse or threaten.

3. The Act explicitly protects freedom of expression.

Rwanda has a capacity for processing 200 claims per year at most, and that is a stretch. In the last five years it has only processed 113 claims. Cleverly knows this, and knows that saying it is 'uncapped' is meaningless in reality. The UK should not be relying on third countries

I have couch surfed in my life and been hours from being evicted. It could happen to anyone. This is hideous. We need more support for people who are made homeless, not to criminalise them.

You can condemn actions of nation states, support providing safety for civilians, stand against genocide etc without making out the likes of Hamas and Houthis are the 'good guys'. We need protection for civilians, and that includes from terror groups as much as states 1/ #r4today
