Je quitte le Rwanda aujourd’hui. C’était notre magnifique « chez nous » pour plus de trois ans. Nous nous sommes liés d’amitié, nous avons appris, nous avons été inspirés, nous avons exploré, nous avons découvert et nous avons grandis. Rwanda va toujours rester dans nos cœurs.

I’m leaving Rwanda today. It was our family’s beautiful home for more than 3 years. We built relationships, we learned, we got inspired, we explored, we discovered, and we grew. Rwanda will always stay in our heart.

Dernière sortie de vélo avant de partir du Rwanda. Les sorties de vélo tôt le matin à partir de ma résidence à Kigali sous un climat parfait et dans des paysages magnifiques vont me manquer. VTT, route et gravelle : le Rwanda est vraiment le paradis du vélo !

Last bike ride before leaving Rwanda. I will miss these early morning rides leaving from my house in Kigali in perfect weather and with gorgeous views. Mountain, road or gravel biking : Rwanda is really the cyclist's paradise.

Au cours de mes 3 ans avec Le Canada au Rwanda et au Burundi, j’ai été appuyé par une équipe de Rwandais professionnels et dévoués. Cela a été au centre de notre succès à appuyer les Canadiens pendant COVID et à livrer une visite de notre PM et 4 visites de ministres. Ils vont me manquer.

In my 3 years with Canada in Rwanda and Burundi, I have been blessed with a stellar team of professional and dedicated Rwandans. This was at the heart of our success in supporting Canadians in Rwanda during COVID and in delivering a Prime Minister and four ministerial visits. I will miss them

This afternoon, Minister Vincent Biruta met with General Roméo Dallaire, founder of the Dallaire Institute. Discussions focused on the Dallaire Institute for Children Peace and Security, established to prevent the recruitment and use of children in armed violence.

Early this afternoon, Lt Gen (rtd) Roméo Dallaire and his wife Marie-Claude Michaud paid respects to the victims of Genocide against the Tutsi.

Notre nouveau ministre du développement international : Ahmed Hussen a été ministre du Logement et de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion, ministre de la Famille, des Enfants et du Développement social et ministre de l’Immigration, des Réfugiés et de la Citoyenneté.

Our new Minister of International Development : Ahmed Hussen was first elected in 2015 and has served as Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, as Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, and as Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship.

Sajjan, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth Marci Ien and Member of Parliament Arielle Kayabaga completed their visit to Rwanda for Women Deliver. Thanks to the teams of Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Int'l Cooperation and Women Deliver who made it a success.

At #WD2023 , Hon. @marci.ien and @leah_taylor_roy visited the Forum of African Women Educationalists (FAWE) Rwanda team, partners of the CLÉ Program. They endorsed FAWE's girls' school and the gender-sensitive teaching model, advancing girls' equal access and health. 🩺 #Equality

The Canadian delegation of officials led by Harjit Sajjan, Marci Ien, Arielle Kayabaga and Leah Taylor Roy, laid wreaths at the burial place in honour of victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi.
