On 9 April 2024, ECOSOC decided that #Russia shall no longer be member of the Board of the World Food Programme.

In 2020 World Food Programme 🇺🇳 received the Nobel Peace Prize for its 'efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war'.

A country weaponizing food has no place at the EB.

The Treaty of Paris, establishing the European Coal and Steel Community was signed 73 years ago to create a de facto solidarity in Europe and avoiding conflict. It did this by encouraging trade and cooperation around the very tools of war–a solution that proved very effective.

Today, Cindy McCain was received by Stéphane Séjourné in Paris to reiterate the strong partnership between World Food Programme & France. Min. Séjourné announced 🇫🇷 support to World Food Programme in delivering vital food aid to civilians in the north of #Gaza Strip & as part of the #GrainFromUkraine initiative.

Participation de Cindy McCain à la conférence humanitaire sur le Soudan & les pays voisins à Paris.

Elle a permis de mobiliser plus de 2 Md€ pour la réponse humanitaire. La 🇫🇷 a annoncé le doublement de sa contribution qui s’élèvera à 110 M€ & sera notamment acheminée par le PAM.

Avec Cindy McCain, directrice exécutive du Programme Alimentaire mondial.

J’ai annoncé le soutien de la France dans l’acheminement par World Food Programme, de céréales ukrainiennes à la population civile de la bande de Gaza, face à l’insécurité alimentaire.

Malgré la grave crise d’approvisionnement qui touche #Haiti , World Food Programme en collaboration avec des producteurs locaux a réussi à fournir depuis début mars des repas chauds et nutritifs à 250 000 étudiants en moyenne.

Cela a été possible grâce notamment au soutien de la #France . Merci!
