Environmental justice & climate justice are rallying cries for ethical treatment, accountability & human rights.

On #WorldDayofSocialJustice , let us embrace empathy and collective action. We can celebrate the progress made in the fight for social justice and commit to the journey ahead. We must amplify marginalized voices, advocate for systemic change, and strive for a more just world.

Today, on #RedHandDay , or International Day against the Use of Child Soldiers, I echo the call to end this abhorrent practice and provide unwavering support to children affected by it. Join WPDI and I in ensuring every child's fundamental right to a peaceful upbringing.

Peace is humanity’s greatest responsibility. As United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres rightly says, “that responsibility belongs to us all – individually and collectively.” I join him in urging the world to meet that obligation for today and future generations.

Thank you, Dr. King, for teaching us how to fight for our freedom.

Last week in Cape Town, I was immensely proud to meet 751 amazing and inspirational women who graduated from our Women Livelihood Program at WPDI. It's a powerful reminder of the capacity women possess to lead transformation and guide their communities to lasting peace.

Yesterday, I was honored to open a brand new basketball🏀 court in Cape Town 🇿🇦, alongside NBA Africa. The court will be a hub for WPDI's Peace Through Sports program, social innovation and community events. I am excited for what the future holds for communities here!
