I pay £190 a month for specialist physiotherapy. Can’t wait to ask my physio if she will accept food vouchers instead. And of course: PIP IS NOT AN OUT OF WORK BENEFIT!!

PIP payments help people with the week-in-week-out extra costs of living with disability. Those costs don't magically go away just because the Tories have given all the money to their rich friends, who can't bear to share it with the less fortunate.

The main downside of post-surgery pain relief I’ve discovered so far is that it has totally unshackled the “I deserve a little treat” part of my brain. Rent £1000, bills £200, little treats £7 million. Someone help me budget this, my family is starving!

Bit worrying that it took a doctor 14 years to realise that the Tories will always destroy the NHS (and presumably vote for every cut that has so obscenely damaged public health). I can only assume the threat of defeat at the next election helped speed up his thinking.

I am slated to do a paid speaking engagement at a university that has just started a Gaza solidarity encampment🇵🇸.

Does anyone have thoughts on whether in solidarity I should:

a) cancel and cite divestment,
b) still speak to the students & express solidarity, or
c) other?

Sincere apologies to my anaesthetist who just wanted some lighthearted “isn’t it funny that we now also ask men if they’re pregnant” banter & was not prepared to be subjected to a full intro to sex & gender lecture by a patient. Assume this is why I was suddenly very unconscious

whenever i hear about mass graves i think about this time back home when they had discovered a new mass grave & i had to call the person on site (some of whose family members were still missing) & ask how many bodies they had uncovered
& he said
it's not bodies, it's body parts

'Many of us have spent our entire lives defending human rights for everyone, everywhere, often in the face of great opposition. Our critics know this. What they really oppose is our desire to build a more equal, sustainable and peaceful world for all.'
