As water companies collapse through failure and greed, the Tories change regulations to prioritise profit

But Labour, FFS

'Labour voted with the government, and it is understood this is because they did not want to be accused of being “anti-growth”'

In 1993 then Labour leader John Smith said:

“There is barely a single person in this country outside Downing Street who thinks it is a good idea to privatise British Rail”

But after Smith tragically died the following year, the commitment to rail renationalisation was dropped

'Taxpayers are paying through the teeth to prop up a failing system.'

Not just true of rail, but of water too.

Time to take water into public ownership. Tory voters agree:

Not the most iconic Corbyn-era policy (nor one I'm most attached to), but the UK does lag behind the European average for Bank Holidays

Very much hope a commitment to additional bank holidays will be considered...

Mhairi Black says the mass graves uncovered in Ukraine were rightly condemned as Russian war crimes, and asks aren't the mass graves uncovered in Gaza a war crime too?

Dowden says there is no parallel between Israel and Russia ... as loud double-standards klaxon blares.

Rayner calling Sunak 'a pint-sized loser' a bit tacky.

There's lots wrong with Sunak - his cruel asylum policies, his economic recession, record NHS waiting lists, the housing crisis, his environmental neglect and rising poverty.

His height is about the same as Starmer's

Dowden now criticising Birmingham Council having issued a Section 114 notice.

Strangely he doesn't mention the Section 114 notices issued by Tory Northamptonshire, Thurrock, Woking or Croydon

Angela Rayner asks why ban on new leaseholds doesn't apply to flats - when it is mostly flats that are leasehold.

They have given in to the vested interests on their backbenches, says Rayner

Angela Rayner asks when the Government will ban no fault evictions - as they promised five years ago

The Renters Reform Bill has been watered down to the point of homeopathy - so much so that the Renters' Reform Coalition has withdrawn support

Jonathan Gullis calling for free garden waste collections in Stoke-on-Trent.

Will be dozens of Tory-led councils charging for garden waste collection (including Croydon)

Remembering Blair Peach, killed during an anti-racist demonstration in 1979. Blair was a teacher and a proud activist in East London NUT.

45 years on from his death, we honour Blair and all those educators who continue to fight for an equal society, for equal access to education

Look forward to every Tory MP appearing on the media to be badgered relentless until they explain where the money is coming from ...

... And why the extra c.£12bn isn't better spent on the NHS to reduce the longest waiting lists on record?

I would like *somebody* on the shadow front bench to say that the Rwanda scheme is morally reprehensible. Not just that it won't work, or is a waste of money. But that it is a horrible thing to do.
