This innovative helpline is controversial. However, I think it is greatly needed here in Ohio, as well. The percentage of abusers who choose to change is quite low, of course, but could this improve with additional resources?

How many terroristic threats are going to be sent and deleted? How many people will be put in danger by following information in a later-deleted tweet? How many officials will sidestep the Official Records Act using it?

The potential issues are not minor.

Consider this if you have toxic/abusive friends and family. Not only for legal reasons but to protect yourself from gaslighting/manipulation. This “feature” just has way too many downsides. Ability to edit makes sense for instagram captions but not communication apps.

Call me old fashioned, but if I have a choice between getting a disease and not getting a disease, I’m always going to choose not getting the disease! And your counter argument to that absolutely cannot be that getting the disease is a better way of accomplishing that.
