In Chile, I was delighted to visit aquaculture projects that are applying science, innovation and technology to ensure a more sustainable production of nutritious aquatic foods and contributing to the livelihoods of local communities. #4Betters #BlueTransformation

Amazed to see the ingenuity in northern Chile where fog catchers 'atrapanieblas' are being used to harvest water from the air as part of Food and Agriculture Organization-Global Environment Facility (GEF) project. This is supporting local agriculture, restore local landscape & fight drought that affects the region. #WaterScarcity

I welcome the United Nations resolution declaring 2026 #YearOfTheWomanFarmer . Women are key actors in agrifood systems & the year will provide an opportunity to highlight their pivotal role in ensuring the economic survival of their families & contributing to rural & national economies.

As 2030 nears, we must intensify efforts to meet #SDGs 1 & 2. Despite producing enough food for 9.5 billion people, 735M remain undernourished. Transforming global agrifood systems is urgent to ensure sustainable, inclusive growth and leave no one behind. #4Betters
