I am excited to welcome Gilardy as UNICEF Madagascar’s newest youth advocate. I admire his dedication to being a champion for children with albinism and promoting inclusion. Gilardy is an activist advocating for the rights of children and adults with albinism.

Meeting with Aika An engaging conversation today with the youth alliance aika that underlined the importance of discussing solutions with young people for #ClimateAction , paving the way for a better future for the next generation.

During today's meeting with the Minister of Water, Fidiniavo Ravokatra, our discussion centered on the accelerated joint efforts towards access to clean water and hygiene in schools, health centers and communities for every child.

We must do what is #HumanlyPossible to end polio, once and for all.

Had a productive meeting with members of the Axian Group, where we discussed opportunities for scaling up innovative partnerships with the private sector to support vulnerable children.

Today, we had the opportunity to visit the health center in Ambovombe southern Madagascar where UNICEF Madagascar is supporting vaccination for children. zero-dose rates are alarmingly high here, and these efforts are vital to safeguard the health of our children.

Thanks to the efforts of UNICEF Madagascar and our partners, Community-Led Total Sanitation initiatives have helped put an end to open defecation in the communities in the south

Wonderful to see how a water desalination project is ensuring access to clean water for families in Ambondro, southern Madagascar. This project is great for the health of the community, benefiting women and children who often have to fetch water.

Excited to be in Madagascar and starting off with a visit to the Governor of Androy, a region highly impacted by droughts.

Such a pleasure to meet Svenja Schulze and Melinda French Gates on the sidelines of the #SpringMeetings2024 today.
